The general soil loss equation refers to an empirical soil loss prediction equation for quantitatively predicting the annual average soil loss of agricultural land or grassland slope based on experimental observation data combined with statistical analysis and generalization of soil erosion impact factors. The mathematical expression is a series of equations in which a series of simplified variables are multiplied. The study of soil loss equations began in the United States. Since the 1930s, a series of soil erosion tests and quantitative studies have laid the foundation for the general soil loss equation.
