The nematode phylum is one of the largest phylums in the animal kingdom. It is a prosthetic cavity animal. There are more than 28,000 recorded species, and a large number of species have not yet been named. Most of the bodies are cylindrical, also known as roundworms. They can be found everywhere in freshwater, seawater, and land. No matter the number of individuals or species, they often surpass other animals and can be found in extreme environments such as Antarctica and trenches. In addition, there are many species of nematodes that are parasitic (more than 16,000 species), animal pathogens including many plants and humans. Only arthropods are more diverse than nematodes.

The nematode was originally named Nemata by Nathan Cobb in 1919. Later, they were downgraded to a class of cyst worms, and finally reclassified into nematodes.
Nematodes are phylum Nematodes, one of the most abundant in the animal kingdom, parasitic on animals and plants, or living freely in soil, fresh water and seawater environments. Parasitic on the human body and cause disease. There are 35 species of such nematodes found in China. The currently popular nematodes are roundworms, whipworms, pinworms, hookworms, trichinella spiralis, and fecal worm.
