General principles of law are one of the sources of international law. international law. The last highly controversial and difficult to define issue. That is, "those whose general principles of law are recognized by civilized nations". For the purposes of that article, "recognition" is a basic prerequisite for general principles of law as sources of international law, but recognition is expressed in the express manner of international treaties and the implied form of international custom. The general principles of law are thus themselves integrated into the two main sources of international law, international treaties and international customs, and not as separate sources of international law. The general principles of law that can usually be enumerated are: statute of limitations, prohibition of reversal of confession, preservation of the right to res judicata, principles of fairness and goodness, etc.
